Oil Price Check - Mar 12, 2010

During the heating season, the state Office of Energy Resources conducts heating oil price surveys. During the last twenty-six years, our pricing system has resulted in savings of between 15-30 cents per gallon compared to the average retail price charged by full-service dealers.

March is one of the hardest months in terms of 'regular' patterns. It can bring some of the lowest prices for the year, but recently we have seen prices go up in March. Of course we suffered the lead up to the war in Iraq in March. With the 30+ year pattern indicating prices have ALWAYS gone up in April, one might surmise that recent March strength is thanks to the wise guys trying to get in front of the April wave...
